Rossville home partially destroyed by fire

Posted: Updated:
ROSSVILLE, GA (WRCB) - Flames and heavy smoke met Walker County firefighters as they answered a call Monday morning on Chickamauga Avenue in Rossville behind Lane Funeral Home.

Two teenagers were in the house when the smoke alarm sounded alerting them to the danger.

A Walker County fire official tells Channel 3 the house had some additions making it a challenge for firefighters in battling the blaze.  They were able to contain the fire to the laundry room.  About 40 percent of the house was damaged by the fire with the rest of the house having smoke and water damage.
