Chattanooga woman dies in Florida Keys auto accident
The vehicles collided in the southbound lane of U.S. 1 in Marathon, Florida, forcing the roadway to be shut down for several hours as the accident was investigated.

A Chattanooga woman has died in the Florida Keys after an auto accident Sunday.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the accident took place near mile marker 34 on U.S. 1 about 12:25pm.
Virginia Gilbert, 70, was traveling south on U.S. 1 in a 2006 Toyota when Cynthia Vanderwilt, 56, of St. Johns County, FL, “veered” her 2013 Chevrolet into oncoming traffic, according to the FHP.
The vehicles collided in the southbound lane, forcing U.S. 1 to be shut down for several hours as the accident was investigated.
She was taken to Fishermen's Hospital in Marathon where she later succumbed to her injuries.
A passenger in Gilbert's car, Rebecca Gilbert, 35, of Chattanooga was also taken to Fishermen's Hospital in Marathon for treatment and examination.
