UPDATE: Accident on Hwy 411 in Old Fort closes roadway

POLK COUNTY, TN (WRCB) - UPDATE:  Highway 411 in Old Fort is back open after a serious accident Saturday morning.

The call came in just after 11:00 a.m. of a head-on collision.  A Lincoln LS driven by 51-year-old Terry Rabbitt of Florida was driving north on Highway 411 when he crossed over into the southbound lane and hit a Chevy Cavalier.  Rabbitt told officers, his dog jumped into his lap distracting him.   The driver of the Cavalier, 73-year-old Elsie Wooten was taken by air to the hospital.  A passenger with Rabbitt, 45-year-old Michelle Lemmings of Florida was taken by ambulance to the hospital.  The women's conditions are not known at this time.  All parties were wearing their seatbelts.

Rabbitt is charged with failure to maintain lane, due care and no insurance.
