Dalton unemployment drops to 8.2% for April

DALTON, GA (WRCB) - The Georgia Department of Labor says that Dalton’s unemployment rate decreased to 8.2% in April, down four-tenths of a percentage point from 8.6% in March. In April, 2013, the rate was 10.3%.

Statewide, Georgia’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for April was 7.0%, unchanged from March.

Metro Athens had the lowest area jobless rate at 4.9%, while the Heart of Georgia-Altamaha region had the highest at 8.8%.
