WALKER COUNTY, GA (WRCB) - The local landmark, Crystal Springs Print Works" in Walker County employed hundreds of people back in the 20th century. Demolition crews were on-site hauling off bricks and debris.

The 700,000 square-foot facility that employed around 1,200 workers when it opened in 1909.

Pam Cates says, it's hard for her to see parts of the mill crumble because most of her family members friends worked there when she was little.

Crystal Springs Print Works helped support Pam's family and also inspired her to open up her own shop thirty years ago named, Fabric and Frills.

There are over 6,000,000 bricks and a million boards to tear down. The demolition company says it would take at least two years to remove it all safely. They would not comment any further.
