NEW YORK, May 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Cantor Fitzgerald & Co., a leading global services financial firm, today announced that Jim Conforti and Steve Zapata have joined the firm as Managing Directors focused on convertible and other equity-linked securities. Based in New York, they will report to Jarred Kessler, Global Head of U.S. Equities.

Mr. Conforti recently served as Vice President of Convertible Securities at Maxim Group. Earlier, he was a Partner, senior convertible trader and senior sales professional at McMahan Securities, Forum Capital Partners and Hambrecht & Quist. Mr. Conforti holds a B.S. in Finance and Economics from Long Island University, and an M.B.A. from New York University Stern School of Business.
Mr. Zapata recently worked at Bloomberg Tradebook where he managed a group that created profitable execution models for various classes of securities. Previously, he held senior positions at SG Cowen, Wachovia, Susquehanna International Group and Seaport Securities. Mr. Zapata holds a B.S. in Finance from Drexel University.
