One buffet offers a batch of things to fix, but a clean dog is a good dog

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) - Dining out this weekend?

The inspectors at the Hamilton County Health Department had a very good week reporting no failing grades among the 21 restaurants inspected.

Remember we do give the low score and that's a 72. That's really close, because a failing grade is anything lower than a 70. If you enjoy those Chinese buffets, well, the one on Signal Mountain Road needs a little work in the kitchen. I'm talking about New China Buffet and Grill.

According to Chief Inspector Jack Falcon, inspectors had to throw out eggs that were out of temperature, crawfish and crab salad were not at the right temperature, the floors need a good cleaning, the shelves in the kitchen were rusty. Also, there was no soap in the hand sink and the cook was handling raw chicken, not washing his hands afterward. Once again they score a 72.

The high score of the week and they are howling with delight over this score.

Congratulations to Good Dog Restaurant on Frazier Avenue with a 98.

Remember any complaints about a restaurant, hotel or motel, day care or a place you work out, call the Hamilton County Health Department  Hotline at (423) 209-8110 or feel free to email me and I'll pass your comments along.

Enjoy your meal!
