UPDATE: Just before 10:30 Wednesday morning
, Chattanooga Police were dispatched to the First Volunteer Bank at 4757 Highway 58 for a robbery. 

Investigators discovered that a white male entered the bank and presented a note demanding cash.  The suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot behind the bank. 

The suspect did not display a weapon.  The FBI responded and is assisting with the investigation.  The Chattanooga Police Department asks anyone that might recognize this man in the pictures to call 423-698-2525 or Crime Stoppers at 423-698-3333. 

The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.

PREVIOUS STORY: Police are investigating a bank robbery Wednesday morning at the First Volunteer Bank on Highway 58.

A search is underway in the wooded area behind the bank for possible suspects.

Investigators have arrived at the bank to interview tellers and police are securing the bank.

The bank entrance is being dusted for fingerprints by crime scene technicians.
