CLEVELAND, TN (WRCB) -
UPDATE: Cynthia Schemel contacted the the Cleveland Police Department in reference to an assault.
Schemel advised that her co-worker Tish Meyers got her attention about Steve Bebb screaming at another co-worker, Katie Brazier, when Schemel tried to intervene.
Schemel said when she tried to intervene, that Bebb grabbed her arm and acted like he was going to punch her.
Schemel said an investigator Calvin Rocholt then stepped between them, but Schemel wasn;t sure which arm Bebb grabbed and there were no visible signs of the alleged assault on her arms.
Schemel said that another attorney, Richard Fisher, Brazier, Stephanie Jones, Meyers and Investigator Rocholt were all present in the office during the time of the incident. The TBI was contacted about the investigation.
Cindy LeCroy-Schemel has been reinstated to her position of Assistant District Attorney for the 10th Judicial District in Tennessee. District Attorney Steve Bebb released a statement Tuesday stating that "in the best interest of the office and the people of the district, a resolution has been reached'. Also in the statement Bebb refers to the situation as a disagreement among peers.
