Tuesday stays dry until the evening, and warmer later this week

Posted: Updated:

Good Tuesday! Our weather is much drier compared to yesterday morning. Monday's heavy rain is moving off the east coast leaving us with variable cloudiness today and highs in the lower to middle 60s. But be careful traveling as flooding remains a problems near some small waterways.

There's another chance for scattered showers arriving this evening as a disturbance moves through the Tennessee Valley behind yesterday's system. Don't expect nearly as much rain with this event, maybe up to a few tenths of an inch. Lows tonight fall to the lower and middle 40s.

High pressure and dry air bring sunshine back Wednesday! Highs still remain cooler than normal, in the middle 60s (lower 70s are more common for early April). Clear skies and light winds Wednesday night allow lows to drop into the 30s. Light frost may form in areas outside the city.

Thursday through Sunday we see a good rebound in the temperatures with fair and dry conditions.  Highs climb into the 70s, possibly near 80 by the weekend. Lows warm into the 40s and 50s. By next Monday the chance for rain goes up again with cooler high in the 60's.
