Cleveland girl plays her way onto Augusta National

Posted: Updated:
CLEVELAND, TN (WRCB) -

Cleveland's Rheagan Hall isn't your typical 8th grader and when it comes to golf, Hall is even further from typical. She's one of 88 that will get to play at Augusta National this weekend.

Rheagan Hall, 8th grade golfer, "It's every golfers dream to just go watch the Masters but I get to walk where Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicholas, Phil Mickelson all them have played."

Hall knows how special this moment is not just because of the greats who've played this historic course, it's special because Augusta's history doesn't include women.

This weekend's PGA Drive, Chip and Putt National Championship will be the first PGA competition at Augusta including women.

Hall who owns Cleveland Middle School's 9-hole record got here by winning the regional PGA Drive, Chip and Putt Championship in Atlanta.
While Augusta can intimidate even the best pros, Hall's not the slightest bit nervous.  Thanks in part to a scrapbook her family put together, but true to form this wasn't your typical scrap book.

Rheagan Hall, "My mom stood up and said you know were very proud of you and so were 200 people. I was like wow. It started with my brother, my mom, my dad, family and friends. And then there was a page and it's Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicholas, Gary Player, Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorrenstam. I was like woah, 5 letters from the greatest of all time."

And the pages kept turning, Michael Jordan, Coach K, the cast from Duck Dynasty and a hundred more wishing Hall the best of luck.  Humbled but confident, Hall has support group like no other and a message for the competition at Augusta.

Rheagan Hall, "Those other girls better be ready, I'm coming for them. I'm ready and I'm prepared, (laughs)"
