UPDATE: Fire destroys one apartment unit and damages other unit in Dayton

DAYTON, TN (WRCB) -

Five people were displaced in Tuesday night's apartment fire in Dayton.

The call came out just after 9:00 p.m. Tuesday of a fire at 109 Armstrong Ferry Road. No injuries were reported but two pets did not make it. It took crews about an hour to get the blaze under control.

The complex has 6 units, one is a total loss, another has smoke damage, the other 4 are okay, and residents returned to them once power was restored. 

No word on the cause of this fire.

Firefighters from Dayton, Sale Creek and Rhea Co. helped battle the blaze.
