UPDATE: Sister charged with stabbing murder of brother
UPDATE: Glenda Forrest, 63, has been charged with first degree murder in the stabbing death of her brother, Donald Barnes, 65, of Red Bank.
Police say the incident appears to have been a botched murder-suicide. Forrest is still hospitalized and being guarded in hospital with self-inflicted stab wounds.
UPDATE: Red Bank Police officers performed a "welfare check" Tuesday morning at a home on Lullwater Road.
Police say they heard a female shouting from inside the home, asking for help.
Officers forced entry into the home and found a female bleeding from what is believed to be self-inflicted stab wounds to her abdomen.
A search of the residence by police revealed the body of an male believed to be her brother, who had apparently been stabbed multiple times.
Neighbors tell Channel 3 that the brother and sister had a tumultuous relationship. Police say they've been called to house many times before.
The female was transported by Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services to a local hospital for treatment.
Police have the suspect in custody.
Red Bank Police say they are treating the death of the male as a homicide and expect to issue warrants soon.
