Congressional candidate to run campaign from RV as he tours district

HAMILTON COUNTY, TN (WRCB) -

Chattanooga businessman and Congressional candidate Weston Wamp began a new campaign tour Monday.

The tour is focused on "Bringing Congress Back Home" in a 32-foot Class-C RV that will serve

as a campaign meeting place, office and hotel room. This week the RV will overnight in Athens,

Sweetwater, Kingston, Oak Ridge and Oneida before returning home on Saturday night.

"Campaigning this way we will be able to meet people where they are rather than coming to

town for a couple hours and acting like we have all the answers," said Wamp. "Congress is out

of touch, but I won't be. Over the next four months we plan on spending the night in every

hometown in this district."

Wamp's plan to spend multiple nights a week on the campaign RV is an unprecedented

congressional campaign strategy as well as one that will allow he and his staff to campaign

continuously in a district that is almost three hours north to south by car.
