Former Red Bank Mayor Monty Millard died Friday in a local hospital at the age of 62.
Monty served 10 years on the Red Bank Commission, including one term as mayor. He was a founding member of the Red Bank Chamber of Commerce and served three times as its president.
Monty was a retail and commercial banker for 37 years. He served a term on the Hamilton County Water and Wastewater Treatment Authority (WWTA). Monty was on the board of the North River Civic Center for over 10 years and was a member of the Red Bank Historical Society.
Monty attended Red Bank Elementary and graduated from The Baylor School in 1969. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a B.S. in political science. Monty earned a graduate degree from the University of Virginia in retail bank management in 1982.
He is survived by his children, siblings and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and interment were Monday. Lane Funeral Home was in charge of the arraignments.
