6th grade home-schooler wins Spelling Bee will represent Chattanooga in D. C.
The word "pizzicato" (pit-si-ka-toe) is sending Matthew Prus to the National Spelling Bee in Washington.
He was the winner from Saturday's regional spelling bee at the UTC Fine Arts Center.
Prus, a 6th grade home-schooler, beat out kids from all over the region.
Around 50 of the best of the best in the Chattanooga area took the stage.
In addition to going to the national spelling bee in Washington, Prus gets a 500-dollar check and a 100-dollar savings bond.
