More horsepower may soon be on the way to Enterprise South and, this time, we are not speculating about Volkswagen adding a new mid-size SUV to its production line. Horse trails are on the drawing board.
Visitors to the Enterprise South Nature Park already enjoy walking, driving, woodland, and bike trails, picnic areas and historical exhibits. At a public meeting Monday night, county parks administrators sought input from the public before they apply for a grant to fund the new horse trail project.
The trails would be the next phase of development for the park and there is plenty of room for a long ride. "2,800 acres in the park," said Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Director Ron Priddy. "Where the horse trail are going, it's about 550 acres and we're anticipating constructing about 10 miles of trails."
The grant application is due April 11th and there is still time for your input on planning and design. The next public meeting is scheduled for Friday morning at 10:00 in the Enterprise South Nature Park Visitor's Center. Or click here to link to the county's site to take the survey.
