1 injured in house fire in North Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A person who barely escaped a burning home Monday night is still in the hospital.

The fire happened along the 2000 block of Shaw Road in North Nashville, not far from Interstate 24.

The fire started in the attic and quickly spread to the roof.

Firefighters put the blaze out quickly, but not before it caused some heavy damage to the home.

One person had to be taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
