NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A driver who was pulled over for speeding is now facing charges after police reportedly found drugs stashed in an unusual place.

The driver, Timothy Norris, allegedly had a couple of pounds of marijuana hiding inside a Mountain Dew case in the back seat.

Police say Norris was driving 10 mph over the speed limit on Old Hickory Boulevard near DuPont Hadley Middle School when he was stopped Thursday night.

According to police, the officer searched the car because the officer could smell marijuana while standing near the driver's side window.

Norris was booked into jail Thursday night.

Police say Norris had been texting someone he planned to sell some of the drugs to.
