Unemployment rates for NW Georgia and the state of Georgia have been released and show a slight decrease from the previous month.
The unemployment rate for the Dalton area dropped to 9.4%, down slightly from October's 9.9%.
The Georgia Department of Labor attributes the decrease to a smaller number of unemployed people in Dalton, which was 5,425, down by 304 from 5,729 in October. There were 6,422 unemployed in November 2012.
Again, the area of Georgia with the lowest jobless rate was the Athens area at 5.1% .
Statewide, Georgia's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for November was 7.7%, down from 8.1% in October. The rate was 8.7% in November a year ago.
