No White Christmas, but a beautiful day ahead

Posted: Updated:

Merry Christmas! No white, snowy Christmas for us this year but I hope you enjoy the beautiful weather. No travel problems from Mother Nature.

Look for sunny skies this Christmas Day for the entire Tennessee Valley. After a cold start in the teens and 20s--grab that cup of hot cocoa--we'll warm into the 40 for highs this afternoon. This is an improvement over yesterday's high of just 39 in Chattanooga. Tonight skies remain fair. We may see a few clouds pass by with lows in the 20s again.

Thursday and Friday stay quiet with mostly sunny skies. Mornings remain chilly in the 20s, but by Friday highs warm into the lower 50s (normal high this time of the year is around 50). This weekend remains dry and fair with lows in the lower 30s and highs in the lower to middle 50s.

Another blast of cold air returns Monday and Tuesday with highs of 40-45 and lows dropping back into the 20s. But rain and snow stay away at least through the daytime hours of New Years Eve.

Merry Christmas, and download the WRCB weather app for the latest. - Nick Austin
