Santa Train delivers toys to local kids

Posted: Updated:

Ten local families suddenly have a brighter Christmas thanks to the Forgotten Child Fund's annual Santa Train.

With the help of volunteers and the city's fire, police, and EMS crews, the local non-profit helped conduct the Santa Train.

The annual Christmas Eve event delivers toys to 10 of Chattanooga's "neediest families."

"To spread goodwill and cheer to those who would not otherwise have it is just an amazing feeling," said Investigator Josh May.

Chris Dunn is a happy mom Christmas Eve as she watches the eight kids in her home jump into and dig through a large box full of toys that the train delivered to her home.

"I just see a whole lot of happy kids with a lot of good presents," said Chris Dunn. " This is good. They needed a happy day. If they're happy, I'm happy."

All of the presents are donated throughout the year. To learn more about the Forgotten Child Fund, click here.
