Family pet disappears; found on Christmas Eve

Posted: Updated:
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

On Christmas Eve Hope Davis's heart is heavy. Her beloved dog Khloe, a Christmas gift from last year, is gone. She disappeared Monday afternoon.

"We made sure all the gates were shut and we just left her outside to play like normal and we came home, we called for her and she never came," Hope says with tears in her eyes.

Hope and her mom, Rhonda, spent hours Christmas Eve putting up fliers with Khloe's picture on it, it paid off.

During Channel 3's interview the Hope and Rhonda got the call they'd been praying for. Khloe was found. "You have her?! Are you serious," Rhonda says on the phone.

Their tears of sorrow quickly turned to tears of joy.

Khloe wandered across a nearby highway and was picked up down the road by a young woman who had her at a nearby feed store. "I was coming to put up a sign and I saw her picture in the window," the woman says.

Back home it's all smiles. The Davis' have a part of their family back. "This is absolutely a Christmas miracle, I appreciate you so much. I don't know what we'd do without this little thing," says Rhonda.

Hope is reunited with her best friend just in time for Christmas. "We're always together whenever I'm at home, she sleeps in my bed," says Hope.
