Posted: Updated:

NBC News - Sgt. First Class Joseph Gantt's remains have been returned to his widow 63 years after he went missing during the Korean War.

Joseph fought in World War II before entering the Korean War. Gantt died as a prisoner of war in 1951.

The soldier's wife, Clara Gantt, was accompanied by family members when she was presented with his remains in an honor guard ceremony Friday.

Now in her 90′s, Gantt refused to remarry after her husband went missing.

"I am very, very proud of him," the widow told NBC. "He was a wonderful husband."
