UPDATE: After several hours a standoff in Walker County is now over, with one man taken into custody.

The Walker County sheriff's office was called out to a residence off Walker Hollow Road around 230 Saturday morning after getting a call that the man fired a weapon inside the home.

Police tell Channel 3 when they arrived on scene Saturday morning, they found the suspect to be Bobby McConathy who neighbors tell me is the father of Dalton McConathy who was killed while allegedly picking up scrap metal in Ringgold, GA just last month.

McConathy's wife and 3 others were able to escape the residence after the weapon was discharged.

His oldest daughter was detained inside the home for a short time before being allowed to leave.

Police say MccConathy refused to be apprehended. They then used smoke and gas grenades to flush McConathy out of the home.

He was arrested as he attempted to escape by running out the back door.

McConathy is being charged with five counts of reckless endangerment, five counts of simple battery, one count of false imprisonment and a possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

McConathy was transported and booked into the Walker County Detention Facility.
