Lookout Valley students support Forgotten Child Fund

Posted: Updated:
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

The Lookout Valley Middle-High School Freshmen Academy participates in a community service project during the holidays.

Students sponsored a Tackiest Holiday Sweater contest, with all proceeds to be donated to the Forgotten Child Fund. Staff members wore unique apparel, and students placed money in the teacher's bin who they thought had the most tacky attire.

After two weeks, they raised $560 – more than double what they set as their original goal.  Students recently visited the Forgotten Child Fund warehouse to present the check.  The Forgotten Child Fund, organized by firefighters and police officers, helps provide toys for needy children at Christmas.
