Dining out this weekend?

The inspectors at the Hamilton County Health Department did find a popular restaurant that needs a lot of work in the kitchen.

The score is a 69, out on Mahan Gap Road in Ooltewah, where you will find the Countryside Cafe.

Remember, a failing grade is any score lower than a 70.

They inspected 25 places this week and the failing grade, according to Chief Inspector Jack Falcon, is due to these problems:

  • The walls & ceiling were filthy
  • The refrigerator is rusty
  • Cooks not washing hands
  • Coleslaw and cottage cheese out of temperature
  • Meat was uncovered in the cooler

They have ten days to correct all critical violations.

The high score of the week on Shallowford Road is Ruth's Chris Steak House in East Brainerd with a 97.

Congratulations to their hard work!
