The Tennessee Department of Transportation has two projects underway that may affect motorists in the Tennessee Valley.

HAMILTON COUNTY: The U.S. 27 reconstruction project will have some lanes closed during weekday nights to allow crews to continue their road work.

Work will also be performed on nearby retaining walls and bridges throughout the project area, which stretches from Manufacturers Road at the Olgiati Bridge to U.S. 127/Signal Mountain Boulevard.

TDOT says in a news release the at least one lane will remain open in each direction during the nighttime work.

Starting on Sunday, Dec. 21 the ramp from Dayton Blvd. to U.S. 27 South will be closed to allow workers to set girders on the nearby bridge. The ramp will be re-opened about 7:00pm Sunday night.

BRADLEY COUNTY: Interstate 75 bridge at Exit 20, where workers will begin moving and setting beams for the bridge Thursday night, starting at 11:00pm and continuing through 5:00am Friday.

During this time, there may be periodic traffic stops in both directions of I-75 and exit ramps as crew move the large beams into place.

Tractor trailer trucks (such as 18-wheelers) will not be allowed to make left turns while this work is underway.

There is also work underway for the related drainage areas that may also affect traffic.

All work is dependent upon weather, and may be re-scheduled.
