One man is in jail charged with attempted murder after an argument escalated into a stabbing in Chattanooga.

Police responded to the 3700 block of 4th Avenue on a disorder. When they got there, they heard screaming coming from inside.

They made contact with Rodrickous Hodges who told them everything was ok. However, shortly after two women came out of the residence suffering from knife wounds to the chest.

Hodges fled the scene but was taken into custody after a brief chase.

He admitted to stabbing his girlfriend, Ueronica Watkins, and her friend, Destinee Jackson, in the chest.

They were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover.

Hodges was charged with two counts of attempted murder.
