Big second half helps Bradley pull away from Baylor
Brooke Copeland scored a game-high 25 points and Bradley Central used a 21-point third quarter to pull away from host Baylor for a 57-39 win Tuesday night.

Copeland actually started the game on the bench and watched the Lady Red Raiders jump out to a 9-2 lead. Head coach Jason Reuter told our media partners at the Times Free Press it was an "in-house situation" that caused the University of Florida signee to sit for the first four minutes of the game.

Baylor still owned a three-point advantage after the first quarter, but Copeland helped the Bearettes (9-2) slowly find their footing to take a 20-14 lead at the break. Bradley hit three straight 3-pointers to open the second half and bettered its first-half scoring total in the third quarter alone to push the lead to double-digits.

Copeland was balanced throughout, scoring 12 points in the first half and 13 in the second. She hit 10-of-14 free throws while fighting her way through a physical Baylor defense. Rebecca Reuter was the only other Bradley player in double figures with 10 points while adding 12 rebounds.

Abby Hubert led Baylor with 11.

LFO boys holds off Heritage rally for 71-65 win
Alex Rattanaxay scored a game-high 24 points and Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe held off a Heritage rally to post a 71-65 road win over Tuesday night.

The Warriors appeared ready to make short work of their cross-county rival, jumping out to an 18-5 first-quarter lead, but they were unable to break the game open. Heritage kept chipping away and managed to pull within seven at the half and eventually got the deficit under five in the second half. However, Rattanaxay, who scored 12 points in each half, helped the Warriors make enough plays down the stretch to preserve the win.

Daniel Oliver added 19 points and Coe Crawford finished with 15 for LFO.

Cody Sanders led Heritage with 15 points, while Jaylon Gaines and Tyler Meroney were also in double figures for the Generals with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
