Chattanooga's rich history will soon be featured on national television.

Crews from C-Span are in town shooting stories and interviewing local authors and historians all week.  C-Span officials, in partnership with Comcast, announced Monday that Chattanooga was chosen for their "2013 Cities Tour".

Some places they're featuring include the Chickamauga Battlefield, Ross' Landing and Bluff Furnace. They'll also look into the local impact of the railroad and the Trail of Tears.

Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke, "any time you have national publicity it highlights our city, brings people here both to visit and to live. It's another way too for people to feel good about what we have going on right here in Chattanooga."

The stories the crews gather this week air on C-Span 2 and 3 on a special Chattanooga weekend, January 18th and 19th.
