UPDATE: Collegedale Police involved in stand-off

Posted: Updated:
COLLEGEDALE, TN (WRCB) -

A suspect that has kept police at bay since 2:00p.m. Wednesday is now in custody.

Collegedale Police, along with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department, were on the scene of a stand-off on Prospect Church Road in Collegedale.

Officers on the scene tell our crew that the incident began as a disorderly conduct call outside of the home.

Police attempted to talk to the man, who had returned home, but he refused, and threaten the officers.  There is another person in the house, who is there willing and will not exit the home.

Officials managed to make contact with the suspect via cell phone roughly two hours later.  But the suspect remains uncooperative.

Houses in the surrounding area were evacuated as a precaution.

An official says the suspect is known by the officers.

He already faces other charges.
