New GA daycare law: No convicts allowed

Posted: Updated:

Day care centers in Georgia just got a bit safer.
A law passed during the last legislative session will ensure no criminals can work in a Georgia day care.
The law requires new childcare employees to pass a finger-print-based background check before they can start working there.
     It begins January first.
As of now, background checks only apply to the directors of childcare centers in Georgia.
