Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis take in the Scenic City's sights

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

The narrow corridors at Rock City Gardens bring thousands to "See Rock City", especially at Christmas when nightfall transforms the trails into a winter wonderland. Every so often the guests who walk the trails are celebrities, in this case Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis.

"Definitely at the top as far as well known celebrities go. Yeah, definitely at the top," says Rock City spokesperson, Meagan Jolley.

Ashton and Mila made a pit stop at the Purple Daisy Picnic Café before heading up Lookout Mountain to enjoy some of Chattanooga's best tourist attractions.

"We didn't know, they just showed up, they actually bought a double play ticket to Rock City and Ruby Falls," Jolley says.

It was around 6:30 p.m. on a Monday night. The parks were rather quiet, a perfect setting for a couple to enjoy some quiet time. They were seen taking selfie pictures atop Lover's Leap.

"They were pretty adamant about wanting some privacy along the trails," says Jolley.

However, there was one other person on the trails that night, art specialist Matthew Dutton. He's in charge of maintaining the gnomes and fairyland figures.

"Just happened to bump into a couple I didn't expect to see underground," Dutton says.

He admits it took him a second to recognize the couple after they crossed paths for the second time. "I kinda looked over and it was a surreal moment for a second of recognition. Wait a minute, this guy looks familiar," says Dutton.

Dutton says the couple really enjoyed his work. Kutcher even posted a picture of Dutton's gnomes on Twitter.

"She [Kunis] was kind of scampering off into the darkness, laughing and literally ooing and awing at the beautiful scenes we have in there and he [Kutcher] was kind of very refrained and looking," Dutton says. "Super down to earth and really nice folks."
