TN woman charged with child abuse files for new trial
A Tennessee woman found guilty of attempted aggravated child abuse has filed a motion for a new trial.
Monica Hammers was arrested in 2011, when a nurse at Children's Hospital reported seeing her put a pillow over her child's face.
In her first trial, the jury deadlocked.
She was tried again on the lesser charge of attempted aggravated child abuse and was found guilty in April.
A hearing is set for February 10th for a judge to decide if the case will be retried.
