A former Georgia Department of Juvenile Transportation Officer has been arrested on charges of misdemeanor shoplifting.

40-year-old Belinda J. Pfalzgraff of Blakely, Georgia was taken into custody and booked into the Dougherty County Jail.

During the alleged incident and arrest no Department of Juvenile Justice youth were under the officer's supervision at the time.

"DJJ continues to cooperate with local prosecuting authorities and regardless of employee seniority, rank or position, those who violate our laws or policies will face serious consequences. Our stance on Department transparency and the consistent application of DJJ standards will continue to ensure youth in our care are treated appropriately, by a professional staff, in a safe and secure environment," said Commissioner Avery D. Niles of the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice.

The Department of Juvenile Justice initiated immediate administrative action following the arrest and dismissed Pfalzgraff on charges of Employee Misconduct.
