MURPHY, NC (WRCB) -

Two people are behind bars in connection with a string of home break ins in Cherokee County.

Officials say they were investigating three home break ins around Morgan Hill Road from November.

In each of the break ins, thieves took furniture, household items, clothes, musical instruments, and in one case several guns.

Investigators were able to get a fingerprint from one of the homes, linking them to a suspect.

Deputies arrested Nathaniel Ivan Reeves and Amy Leigh Phillips. They face charges of breaking and entering, injury to real property, larceny, criminal conspiracy and larceny of firearms.

Some of the stolen property was recovered. Officers are still searching for much of the property taken, most importantly the guns.

If anyone has any information on these defendants,  has any information where the property may be, or has purchased any property from these persons, they are asked to call Investigator Todd White at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office at 828-837-2589 or to notify your local law enforcement agency.
