(WRCB) - It has been quite messy around our area. Tonight we
will see rain showers becoming mixed with some light snow showers. The
heaviest rain has ended with 2-4" of rain over much of the region.
The amounts of snow do not look heavy, because the
amount of moisture will lessening. The best chance for an inch or so on
grassy areas will be in the higher elevations will it will get colder quicker.
This includes the Cumberland Plateau and also the Smokeys. In the valley
areas I am expecting much less with some minor grassy accumulations possible
but less than a quarter inch. The further south the less likely for any
accumulation. The best chance for some good snows will be in the
mountains in Monroe county to east of Knoxville and in some of the mountains in
North Carolina. Winter storm warnings are in effect for the highest mountains
in east Tennessee and western North Carolina. Amounts up there could
exceed 6". Winds will be quite strong late tonight and out of
the north. The winds will continue strong for Wednesday. So prepare
for winter like wind chills!
Thanksgiving day will be cold but sunny. Black Friday
will be sunny and a little warmer. Saturday and Sunday will be cool but
