Over 450 Bradley County residents stopped by the Community Service Agency on Thursday to pick up two full bags of food worth 50 dollars per person. The Temporary Emergency Food Program is funded by the US Department of Agriculture.  They offer food assistance to all Bradley County residents that are elderly, handicapped or come from a low income household.

The USDA's Surplus Commodity Programs coordinator says; "Last year, 650 Bradley County residents picked up brown bags of food.  This year, that number jumped to 150 more people that qualified this 2013."
