Chattanooga Fire Station 8 temporarily relocates firefighters
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -
Chattanooga firefighters at Station 8 on Hickory Valley Drive
have been temporarily relocated after mold was discovered in the building. Fire
Chief Lamar Flint said the decision was made Tuesday after tests
confirmed mold was present in the station.
An environmental cleanup company will be brought in to remove
the mold and treat the building to prevent its return.
Meantime, the firefighters assigned to Station 8 will be housed
at Station 6 on Bonny Oaks Drive. The area covered by Station 8 will be covered
by the firefighters at Station 6, Station 7 and Station 21.
