KNOXVILLE — U.S. Sen. John McCain of Arizona, the GOP's presidential nominee in 2008, addressed a number of hot-button issues Monday morning in Knoxville as he stumped for the re-election of U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander.

McCain campaigned on behalf of Alexander, a Maryville Republican, at the Airport Hilton at the private breakfast that cost $500 per person, or $1,000 with a photo with the senators.

About 100 people attended the breakfast.
