Davenport and Coffman Jr. Win TVBC season opener on Nickajack

CHATTANOOGA (WRCB) - Twenty-three teams showed up on Nickajack Lake Saturday morning to fish the first tournament of the Tennessee Valley Bass Club's 2013 – 2014 season.

The team of Gary Davenport and Harold Coffman Jr. walked away with first place and $687. The pair brought in a five-fish limit weighing 19.95 pounds to take the win. They also received a $100 bonus for being the highest finishing Tow Boat U.S. member of the event.

Taking second place and $343 was the team of Craig Pletcher and Eddie Wallace with five fish that weighed 15.55 pounds. The duo also won big fish of the tournament and $230 with a giant largemouth weighing 7.26 pounds.

Finishing in third and taking home $171 was the Youth Division Team of Chris and David Kilgo with a total weight of 13.82 pounds.

The next regular season tournament will be held on Guntersville at Jackson City Park on December 13, 2013.
