Georgia Forestry's controlled burn causes a scare

Posted: Updated:

A controlled burn by the Georgia Forestry Department had quite a few people concerned.

Channel 3 received calls from viewers not only in Catoosa County, but also in East Ridge and Ooltewah.

The Forestry Department planned to burn 28 acres Thursday along Cherokee Valley Road in Ringgold.  But the winds caused some of the flames to jump the fire break and scorch an unknown number of acres.  The fire is back under control, and no structures were in danger, and no one was injured.
