ATHENS, TN (WRCB) -

An Athens, Tennessee radio icon passed away Tuesday morning.

Hayward Armstrong, a radio personality at WJSQ/WLAR, passed away around 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Armstrong has been a fixture at WJSQ for more than 50 years, and was still broadcasting just days before he passed.
