Knoxville boy burned playing with gasoline and a lighter

An 11-year-old Knoxville boy is at a hospital burn unit out of state after setting himself on fire.

It happened early Wednesday morning at a home on Oakcrest Lane in North Knoxville.

Knoxville police say security video shows Xavier Graves set himself on fire while playing with a gas can and a lighter in his backyard.

He suffered burns to more than 50-percent of his body including his chest, back, neck and arms.

Graves was transported to the burn care unit of Shriners Hospital for Children in Cincinnati.

He's listed in serious condition.
