Mild, cloudy today, with rain showers tonight

Posted: Updated:
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

Good Wednesday.  You will notice it is quite a bit warmer as you head out the door today.

That is typical ahead of a cold front.  Southerly winds ahead of the front will typically bring in a fetch of warmer air.  Look for highs in the upper 60s today with overcast skies.

The front will push in some rain showers late tonight through the overnight.  We will see about a quarter to a half an inch of rain before it begins to taper off Thursday morning.  By 9am, Thursday, the rain should be gone, and winds will pick up a bit, blowing from the north at 10-20 mph.  Highs will be a bit cooler in the low 60s.

The coldest air this week will be Friday.  The low Friday will be in the mid to upper 30s.  The high will only reach about 59.

For the weekend, we will see some clouds Saturday after a chilly start, but the chance of rain with those clouds is less than 20%.  It should be a great day for the Mocs game at Finley Stadium at 2pm.

Highs for both Saturday and Sunday will be in the mid 60s.
