Posted: Updated:
CHATTANOOGA, TN (WRCB) -

On Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, local merchants and national franchises are extending discount and deals to military veterans and active-duty military personnel.

O'Charley's, Krispy Kreme and Shoney's will thank veterans and all active-duty military personnel by offering free signature items on Veterans Day in honor of our nation's servicemen and women.

O'Charley's will allow veterans and active duty servicemen their choice of one of nine meals on the  "$9.99er" menu.

Options include O'Charley's Famous Chicken Tenders & Twisted Chips, Cowboy Sirloin, Homestyle Chicken Pot Pie and Santa Fe Tilapia, among others.

"It is a year-long commitment of O'Charley's to recognize our nation's military. Offering a free meal to our military servicemen and women on Veterans Day is just another way of saying a sincere ‘thank you.' We are truly honored to have our veterans and active-duty servicemembers at our restaurants every day and especially on this holiday," said Mickey Mills, President of O'Charley's.

Shoney's will thank our nation's veterans and troops with a free All-American Burger on Veterans Day. "Veterans Day is a day of thanks and for us, being able to serve the many who serve for our freedom is a privilege. We are thankful every day for our veterans and troops, and on their day we look forward to serving them a free burger. We salute you," said Damon Davoudpour, Shoney's Director of Marketing.

Krispy Kreme will give thanks to veterans by offering a free original glazed doughnut and a small cup of coffee.
