Flags to honor Catoosa County veterans

Posted: Updated:

In honor of Veteran's Day on Monday, November 11 flags of fallen soldiers from Catoosa County will be decorated in downtown Ringgold.

Mayor Joe Barger has enlisted the help of many volunteers to help display over 1,100 flags that will honor the service of Catoosa County Veterans.

The Veteran's flags will be on display for one week before and one week after Veteran's Day and will return to downtown in May for the week before and week after Memorial Day.

The flags will be mounted atop a memorial cross that will list the service member's name and the war or military branch under which they fought.

Many families have opted to donate their own memorial flags for the memorial display.

The City of Ringgold is offering flags for purchase at City Hall or by calling 706-935-3061.
