First Baptist Church of Dalton hosts Lydia's Market

Posted: Updated:

The First Baptist Church of Dalton hosted Lydia's Market over the weekend. Organizers partnered with other ministries and vendors from across the country to help sell one of a kind creations.

This event gave shoppers a chance to purchase unique and breathtaking labors of love crafted by artists who struggle to make ends meat.

Hundreds stopped by and shopped for a good cause.  Some of the items on sale were colorful potato sacks, cultured pearl necklaces, hand cut gemstones and handmade beauty products.

Over $40,000 worth of items sold during the first annual event.

Lydia's Markets organizers say, "all proceeds will be sent immediately back to those who designed each piece.  That money will help feed children, provide clothes and shoes and help them pay for basic necessities.
