Killings put microscope on Tennessee

Three parole violations. Zero punishment. Four people dead.

A criminal since childhood, Jacob Allen Bennett promised he was "ready to move on with his life," so the state released him from prison two years early. When the parolee failed his drug test, the state let him slide. When he didn't pay court fees, the state looked the other way. And when he went AWOL, the state did nothing. Now four people are dead.

Parole officers didn't worry about Bennett blowing off the terms of his release from prison until four dead bodies turned up in Renegade Mountain.
